Detailed Description
Yellow chilli is native to Uttarakhand, known for its uniquely pungent flavor and is provided to you in the powdered form. Due to their high pungency yellow chilli powder is an ideal flavouring agent for curries and chutneys.
Locally known as Lakhori chilli, this variety of chilli derives its name from Lakhora village in Almora district of Uttarakhand where it is believed to have been first grown. Although it is a popular chilli variety, having high market demand, but it is cultivated only in a small area in Uttarakhand and hence its production is rather limited.
It is a good source of Vitamin C with anti-bacterial, analgesic and anti-diabetic properties.
Our Yellow chilli powder has been obtained from ripe chillies, that are sun dried and hygienically pulverized. It has been sourced from villages in Nainidanda region of Pauri Garhwal district in Corbett landscape and Ramganga river catchment in Uttarakhand. Ramganga river, that rises in the southern slopes of Dudhatoli Hills of Gairsain subdivision (Diwali Khal) is the lifeline of world-famous Corbett National Park. Meandering through the panoramic landscapes and lush green forests, Ramganga feeds farms located alongside its course with pure mineral enriched water.
Yellow chillies have been cultivated under natural conditions by members of our women Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and has been processed and marketed by our women’s Cooperatives.
