Detailed Description

Nettle infusion

This unique infusion has the goodness of Himalayan stinging nettle along with green tea leaves and ginger. Nettle is a perennial shrub that occurs in temperate and sub-tropical regions in Himalayas, and has numerous medicinal properties.
Nettle has been extracted from the wild in the Ramganga Catchment around the hills of Ranikhet in the Almora district of Uttarakhand while green tea is cultivated under natural conditions by the farmers in the region.
Nettle has been in integral part of ancient systems of medicine in India as well as in Europe. A rich source of vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants, nettle is considered to have anti-inflammatory properties and has traditionally been used for relief from arthritis pain and muscle and joint spains. It is also believed to be helpful in controlling blood pressure, treatment of urinary infections and skin allergies.
Nettle has been extracted from the wild and dried in shade by members of our women Self-Help Groups (SHGs). Subsequently it is blended with suitable quantities of green tea leaves and ginger. It has been packed and marketed by our women's Cooperatives.
It is recommended to infuse the mixture in a cup of boiling water for about 2 minutes.
